St. Patrick's Day in the Park

Ava was so excited for St. Patrick's Day. She woke up before me and insisted that she had a suprise. She just needed her school bag. I went out to the car and got her bag, left there from school on Wednesday. She rummaged through, disappeared and then emerged, announcing, "Happy St. Patrick's Day. I am Miss St. Patrick. I'll make you lucky!" She had made this cute leprechaun hat at preschool.

The temparature went over 60 degrees, so I loaded the girls up and headed to the park. We spent two hours swinging, hiking, and having a picnic. I haven't taken pictures of the girls together in a long while, so I brought along my camera. Honestly, it's nearly impossible to get a good picture of the two of them together these days. Emily, the typical active toddler, is far too busy to be bothered with posing for a picture. Ava, on the other hand, is happy to stop and pose. It's just SO over-the-top. She thinks she's doing a show. The combination of the two is frustrating and neither kid is ever looking at the camera at the same time. Here is my best shot from yesterday.

And here's our silly Ava, performing, of course.

Swinging...

Emily, dreaming of swinging. Or making a "present" for me. I'll let you decide what's going on in this picture.

Serious 4 year old attitude. Our park trip was down hill from here...

I really wish that'd I'd taken pictures of their "official" St. Patty's outfits. Emily had the cutest bow in her hair. Ava looked less dishevelled. However, after we returned from dance class and dinner was simmering on the stove, this is what I got. The two of them playing on the deck.

Hope you all had a happy St. Patrick's Day!
