Twice a year, parents are invited to sit in dance class and observe. The tiny ballerinas are too cute in their little leotards. Love it! I definitely saw a glimpse of my little self in my daughter. Ava was always at the end of the line during their individual exercises, off in her own little world. When her turn came up the teacher automatically reminded her what they were supposed to be doing. That was me, playing summer tee ball and softball when I was a kid. Always in the outfield, catching butterflies and daydreaming. Then all of the sudden people would be yelling and there was a ball flying toward me. Still, Ava loves her dance class. Loves her little dance class buddies. And more than anything, she is excited to wear her tutu "see what is backstage" when they have the recital in June. I couldn't help but laugh at her plies. Feet wide apart, it was anything but graceful. Of course, she's been doing exercise tapes with me during Emily's naps lately. I think she's confused the squat with the plie. Just one more note...despite the occasional bout of toddler defiance, Emily is still the best baby. She sat through the whole 45 minute class, watching her big sis with hardly a peep.
Here are some clips from the class:
